Prelude to "LOUIS COME HOME" rally:
On a cold December night during final exams a couple dozen of Tulane's finest citizens and students joined me on St. Charles Avenue in front of Dr. Kelly's residence, where we attempted to demonstrate our collective desire to obtain my readmission to the campus.  Over the course of the next week or so many letters from students and hundreds of petition signatures calling for my readmission were sent to Dr. Kelly.  All evidence of the preferences of many affiliates was simply ignored.

I then began an investigation to see what could be done about the censorship.

In an initial attempt to persuade the administrators to reconsider I wrote two letters, one to Dr. Kelly, and then later, another to Mr. Robert Boh, Chairman of the Board of Administrators of the Tulane University Educational Fund, the employers, in effect, of Dr. Kelly and his officials.  The bulk of the content of both of these letters was published in the Tulane Hullabaloo.

Before explaining how Dr. Kelly and his administrators were ultimately persuaded to reverse themselves I would like to present the published version of my letter to Dr. Kelly (see Next Page) and then the text of my letter to Mr. Boh, which should appear in the pages which follow.
